For those who know me, they know I love doughnuts. Love them. Inspired by my recent trip to New Orleans and the celebration of Mardi Gras, I wanted to recreate one of my favorite fried pastry recipes in true French Quarter-style: the beignet. The beignet represents pure indulgence with its excessive amounts of confectioner’s sugar, that will leave even the most meticulous of person’s clothes completely covered in white decadence.

I decided to adorn some of my beignets with a glaze. Not just any glaze, however, but a beer glaze. With the assistance of Victory Brewing Company’s Golden Monkey and Atlantic Brewing Company’s Bar Harbor Blueberry Ale, I created two delicious glazes that took my beignets to the next level.
