Hard Cider Apple Sauce

  • 12 medium green apples – peeled, cored and chopped
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tspĀ ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup hard cider
  • 1 pinch of salt


  1. Mix apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, apple cider, and salt together in a large pot over medium-high heat.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for until apples are soft, about 20 minutes.
  3. Use a potato masher while cooking to help break down the apples. Serve warm or cool.
